Prosthetic dentistry includes diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and maintenance of the mouth. If you have missing teeth or want to restore your natural ones, we will decide for fixed prostheses that are the dental restorations such as inlays, onlays, crowns, and bridges.

● Inlays. Inlays are custom made fillings (composite material, gold, or tooth-colored porcelain) that are made by a professional dental lab. They are cemented into the tooth and can repair teeth that have been damaged by different factors such as broken or fractured teeth, decayed teeth, fractured fillings, and large fillings. This kind of procedure usually requires two appointments.

● Onlays. Onlays are also custom made fillings (composite material, gold, or tooth-colored porcelain) usually known as partial crowns. Like inlays, they are also made by a professional dental lab but they are cemented onto the tooth, not into it.

● Crowns. Crowns are the right choice to protect and strengthen tooth structure that couldn’t be restored with an inlay or an onlay. This is also the right choice to make after a root canal has been done. They are made to match the shape, size, and color of your teeth. You will need a temporary crown cemented on your tooth while the lab creates your final crown.

● Fixed bridges. Dental bridges are a wonderful way to replace missing teeth. They are long lasting but do need replacement or to be re-cemented in case they wear out. Fixed bridges can fill spaces of missing teeth, maintain facial shape, prevent remaining teeth to shift, they also restore chewing, speaking, and the appearance of your smile. A fixed bridge application requires about three appointments. We will also teach you how to floss properly underneath the false tooth.
